The Trump-Zelensky phone call has caused an upheaval among the political elite down to ordinary citizens. But while American society is still trying to understand, comprehend, and gather information regarding Trump’s weekly disgrace, has anyone checked on Ukraine to see how this political scandal can affect the burgeoning career of their new President? The possible effects on Ukraine would influence their society, economy, and military competency. Zelensky was noted in his July phone call with Trump that France and Germany were not doing enough to support Ukraine. While his claims may not be as outlandish and blatantly incorrect as Trump, Zelensky is still trying to figure out his place on the stage of global politics. Zelensky has big plans for Ukraine, and has stated before that it is important that the world “does not forget about Ukraine”. Well, they’re definitely not forgetting now.
